Mission & Philosophy

Mission Statement

The mission of Faith Christian Academy is to provide a safe, supportive, educational environment for students with learning differences.  Our holistic approach to education while nurturing the heart, mind, body, and soul promotes self confidence and independence.

Philosophy

God has instilled talents and differences in every child.  The staff of Faith Christian Academy values the uniqueness of each child and is tailored to serve the diverse learning styles of the student population.

If a child is unsuccessful academically, it means that the teaching staff has not yet found the best way to teach the child.  It is up to the staff to pursue alternative methods of teaching, to determine the child’s strengths and interests, and to experiment until effective techniques are found. Each child must be taught through his or her unique style of learning.

It is our quest to achieve God’s standard of excellence in all that is done at Faith Christian Academy.  In preparation for an independent, Christ-centered future, four core areas are addressed daily: academics, communication, social skills, and self esteem.  Academics involve the actual subject material as well as how you learn, study skills, organization, and time management.  Learning effective communication and appropriate behavior in a given situation is vital whether making a first impression or establishing a relationship.  Research indicates children with good self esteem are happy, make and keep positive friends, and are more likely to persevere in working through obstacles in life.  It has been noted over time, as one area begins to improve, a chain reaction occurs, positively impacting the other three areas.

In our pursuit of excellence, we are committed to raising and educating children to love God and serve Him whole-heartedly. Character is frequently a neglected quality in education.  We believe that a child's character ought to be molded by God's Word.  Faith Christian Academy is dedicated to shaping the lives of the students by teaching them the qualities which matter most--trust in God, honesty in word and deed, respect for authority, and kindness toward others.

Central to our philosophy is the acknowledgement for a team approach between the student, family, and staff, in order for a child to be truly successful.  As a team, realistic, achievable goals are developed which will inspire your child's interest in lifelong learning.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and our standard for faith and practice.

We believe in God as revealed in the Bible.  He is our eternal heavenly Father, the author of truth, love and faith.

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, and in His second coming.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who empowers for service and reveals Jesus in us.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, fell through disobedience, and is saved through faith in Jesus Christ.
